What Even Is Chroma?

CHROMA is an annual student show and glitzy gala featuring the finest student work from the past 12 months. submit your best projects, whether from class or created independently, for a chance to win cash awards! An independent juror will choose prize winners, and these will be announced at the CHROMA Gala on Thursday, November 12th.

 Submission Guidelines 

  • the 2026 submission window is from october 5th-8th. 
  • selected works will be featured in the Chroma gallery from November 10th-December 2nd. awards will be announced at our annual gala on November 12th.
  • there is a limit of 3 submissions per student. 

Physical Work:

  • should be dropped off at the Design office, located at 3107 ARTS, with a filled-out paper title card included (available there).
  • you will still need to fill out this digital form in full!
  • note: if you have a digital or unframed still image you would like to submit, printing and framing is no longer required unless your work is selected for display in the CHROMA exhibition. you can submit your digital still image on the next page of this form. 
  • if selected for display, 2D work must be framed and ready to hang with hook area or hanging wire securely attached. all pieces must be dry. 3D work must be self-supporting or mounted its own base. if the work needs special consideration for hanging, please specify on the entry card how the piece is to be hung.

Digital Work:

  • digital submissions are reserved for intangible work such as film, video, animation, motion design, interactive, etc.
  • if you have a still image you would like to submit digitally, submit it on the submission form. however, please be aware that still images selected for exhibition will be required to be framed and ready for display.
  • all video work should be formatted as MP4 or GIF. it should be at least 1080 pixels on the shortest side, but no larger than 3840 on the largest side.
  • for interactive work, please submit your file according to your best judgement with respect to those who will be examining the piece. 
  • you can submit your files digitally through the submission form. no in-person paper title card is required.
